Where am I #12

I *think* this one will be fairly easy to guess. Likewise, I *think* the leggy sculpture in the pic (no, not me, but thanks for the compliment) is no longer at this location.

Where am I?

Gringo - aka Scott - was born outside of Chicago and has lived most of his life in or around big cities. He spent two years of his adult life in Mexico City (talk about big cities!) and fell in love with Mexican food and culture all while weathering the challenges of life in a city with over 20 million people. Life's unpredictable journey has since brought him to Tennessee, where he is close to family and to the natural beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains. Scott also enjoys movies, hiking, top ten lists, and travel in general.

  1. Update: This photo location contest was solved on Facebook by Laura, a life-long Chicagoan and long-time acquaintance from freshman year at university. Thanks for playing Laura!

“Forever Marilyn” was photographed (with yours truly admiring her ginormous panties) in Chicago’s Pioneer Square, July 2011 to be precise. The square, which fronts the Equitable Building alongside the Chicago River, has become a temporary exhibition spot for large works of art. The statue, by New Jersey sculptor Seward Johnson, has since been sent to Palm Springs, California, where it was supposed to be on display through this past August, until local aficionados negotiated an extended lease for Ms. Monroe. It is said that she will travel to New Jersey sometime in 2014.
