I found this gem of a panorama stitch in my archives. Methinks it’s harder than my usual postings, so I’m not adverse to giving a clue if so requested.
Where am I?

Gringo - aka Scott - was born outside of Chicago and has lived most of his life in or around big cities. He spent two years of his adult life in Mexico City (talk about big cities!) and fell in love with Mexican food and culture all while weathering the challenges of life in a city with over 20 million people. Life's unpredictable journey has since brought him to Tennessee, where he is close to family and to the natural beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains. Scott also enjoys movies, hiking, top ten lists, and travel in general.

Joshua Tree?
I feel like it’s a trick question. Africa?
Good guess. Many African countries have this type of landscape – Namibia, which I visited in 2009, comes to mind – but it’s not Africa.
Chris is correct – Joshua Tree National Park, in California. In the pic, I’m atop Mastodon Peak, which overlooks the stunning, remote landscape. This section of the national park features a remote palm forest not far from here, but is otherwise just a jumble of boulders. The titular Joshua trees are further north.
Thanks for guessing!
